Philosophy

Our Philosophy at St. Andrew's Preschool and Childcare Center is that early childhood is a time of discovery and exploration.  Our primary purpose is to provide an environment that encourages social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth and development within each child through play and stimulating hands-on learning experiences.  We strive to provide a safe, secure, and nurturing environment that encourages the development of every "whole child."

Our teachers enable each child to reach his or her highest potential by supporting children where they are on their learning path.  Our low child-teacher ratios assist our teachers to be able to spend quality instructional time with each child, develop close relationships and build trust and respect with each child and family.  We eagerly accept partnerships between families and the community to enhance a child's learning experience.  Our goal is to set our children up for success and a love for learning!

Health & Safety

Keeping your child healthy is important to everyone here at St. Andrew's Preschool and Childcare Center.  By working together, we can keep the children in our care healthier.  Every day when your child arrives at St. Andrew's Preschool and Childcare Center, his/her teacher will check for any signs of illness, communicable disease, or physical injury.

If your child is showing any signs of illness or requires medical attention, or becomes ill during the day, you will be notified immediately.

It is essential that a family notifies administration if their child has been exposed to a contagious illness.  This will enable us to monitor our children here at the center for any symptoms as well as notifying the classroom the child is present in.

We use the Division of Public Health (DPH) as a resource to determine the return of a child with a communicable disease.  Our goal is to decrease the spread of illness as much as we possibly can.
